The primary attraction in the Guadalupe Mountains are its two dramatic canyons, particularly the flowered and forested McKittrick Canyon. The historic Williams Ranch is an interesting historic spot, if somewhat tricky to get to. The Salt Basin Dunes range from the humble and plant-covered to the stark and tall, and are a seldom visited area of the park.
